Hello and welcome to the forum.
The control unit may be the problem.

CONTROL UNIT REPLACEMENT
Replace the control unit with a new one if the turn
signal switch is still not cancelled automatically.
Remove the air cleaner case and air cleaner element
holder.
Place a rag or shop towel over the air chamber to
prevent entry of foreign particles.
Remove the ignition control unit and relay bracket.
Remove the ignition coil.
Disconnect the coupler and remove the control
unit from the bracket.

This is from the service manual.

Hi folks...I've searched the site but can't find any pics that show the location of the hazard and turn relays. Anyone got a photo of where they are located? I'd sure appreciate it. Thanks,

As the earlier post said, if you take the air cleaner and housing out, you will see the ignition control unit toward the forks, under those, you will find the coils, and under those is a bracket that holds both the fuel pump relay and the turn signal control unit. The control unit is what operates the turn signals i.e. makes them flash and times them to turn off after a certain amount of time. For the guy is looking for the flasher for the turn signals that started this thread, keep looking, we'll be riding. And if you are not going to appreciate someone replying to your request for help, don't ask.

By the way, the T/S control unit is the bigger of the two units on that bracket and if you can't get it to slide out of the rubber housing, there is one bolt that comes up from the bottom to hold it on. If you take off the right side lower fairing you should be able to get to that bolt.

Thanks Rzaugg...your info helped me locate both units (hazard and t/s)...on my bike, one to the left of the Ignition control module above the left coil and level with the Ignition module; and the other below the right coil. Appreciate it!

Will share this...it may amplify the help already given.

Thought this might help someone else. Not yet sure which (L or R relay) is turn vs. hazard, but will find out as I progress...bike has been sitting for 3 years. Relays identified by wire colors, but my schematic does not differentiate between hazard/turn modules.

I have an 85 gl1200 interstate. On my bike the relay on the left is for the hazard lights. Capellan your pic helped me locate it, search on E-Bay confirmed it. Plus I had already found the turn signal one by turning it on and feeling for the clicks, lol. Thanks for the pic.

Good job posting the photo!
I am wrong as often as I am right concerning what is wrong with someone else' motorcycle without having seen the machine in person. Guessing with limited information, as to the source of the trouble, is sketchy at best.
