Been lurking around the forums for some time. Great info on this site. I just finished up rebuilding the carbs on my 86 GL1200 Aspencade, using Randaak's kit and Howard Halasz's repair guide. I put tape on the #3 and #4 ends of the air vent joint pipes and the air joint pipes to mark the orientation per the repair guide. However, the tape fell off prior to me changing the o-rings and now I'm not sure which way they go. The picture in the repair guide shows the #3 end of the air vent pipe as the end w/o the vacumm connector and the #3 end of the air vent joint pipe as having the shorter lip on the bottom.
I've searched thru the forums, other sites, the Clymer/Haynes/Honda Service manuals, but I can't find any pictures/text which indicate the correct orientation of the pipes.
Before I attach the carbs to the plenum, does it matter how the pipes are connected to the carbs? Would anyone be able to provide the correct orientation of these pipes between 1-3 and 2-4?

Does this help? Mine is a CA model but here is the layout for both.
Enjoy the ride. They are all good, just some better than others.
