Re-installing left glove box

Postby SilverDave » Sat Jun 14, 2014 2:53 pm

I took my CB out of my Aspy to have Sierra Electronics tune it up. They did !
Under the left glove box, there is an un-holy mess of wires, some for the CB, some for the radio... I have spent the last 25 minutes attempting to re-install the left glovebox tray , moving the wires around a bit each time ... It still does not want to "sit flush " ... I am so frustrated !!

:(

Any hints for getting the wires in a place where the box unit can be smoothly re-installed ??

( and yes, I seriously considered cutting the glove box tray in half on my bandsaw )

Can't speak to the 1200, but on my 1100, I tended to shove the "unholy mess" of wires as far forward into the fairing (up behind the turn signal) as possible, rather than trying to push them down to make room for the cubby. Move them out of the way rather than try to squish them down.

The problem lies not with the wires , but the 4 larger , multi-wire connectors , which are about 3 inches long and 1/2 inch thick. .... and sadly have not much extra wires ..
I pushed one of them right to the back, but the rest want to lie under the box ...
