Aspencade passenger floor boards....UGLY

Postby bwagner6 » Tue Jul 01, 2014 5:19 pm

Hey guys... So my bike is in beautiful condition but one thing has always bothered me. When you fold the passenger boards up the underside seems so unfinished! Does anyone have a lead on polished or chrome covers for the underside? It seems to me that way back when I managed a Honda shop that there were covers of some sort you could buy but no luck searching so far. Any help or ideas would be awesome.

I always thought they looked terrible folded up period - they interrupted the lines, blocked the side cover, just looked like they didn't belong there. I wish the undersides were the body color, so they faded into the background.

I agree admin... But when I go for a ride solo my wife insists that I fold them up which is the universal symbol for "No other women riders" haha. I just found a set used on eBay so will see how they look. I will post pictures!

Are you saying that if you ride around with your passenger floor boards folded down, that you're in danger of random women hopping onto the back of your bike?

Hmmm...

Unfortunately, they're from Saber Cycle (click the link for horror stories) so they'll likely not fit, the chrome will flake off in 6 months, and they'll break or fall off within a year.

Do a google search for 393-541 floorboards and you'll find lots, and cheaper than Saber Cycle to boot.

Well, I'm not affiliated with sabercycle at all, but I have installed their master and slave kits on two 1200's some years ago, with no issues.

Still, you are right its always buyer beware with anything of course.

So I bought these cover plates on eBay. I was a little skeptical but figured for 15.00 it wasn't muck of a risk. They actually turned out real nice. Before and after pics...
