Is there rebound and compression adjustments on a 86

Postby TurkeyWing » Wed Aug 13, 2014 7:34 pm

My 86 1200A front end rides bad I don't think the anti dive is working too So I was wondering is there adjustments like a new bike ?
or am I going to service the oil ? My guess that oil is 27 years old and it going to need a change

More than likely your springs are worn out, changing to new Progressive springs and using a heavier oil will make the most noticable improvement. Most Hondas specify the use of automatic transmission oil. Different ATF's will have different weights, usually somewhere around 7W. I've had good results with 20W non detergent oil, usually available at farm supply stores, also used for air compressors. Just changing to the heavier oil may slow down your fork movement and give you a more solid feel.
