Head Gasket Blown

Postby falconmont » Mon Sep 01, 2014 6:52 pm

I seem to have blown a head gasket on my 86 Aspencade 1200. I would like to know how to replace it, or am I better off taking it to a shop?

If you're relatively handy with tools, own a torque wrench or can borrow one, and have a shop manual, you should be able to do this on your own.
I am wrong as often as I am right concerning what is wrong with someone else' motorcycle without having seen the machine in person. Guessing with limited information, as to the source of the trouble, is sketchy at best.

Thanks! I have a neighbor with a torque wrench. Now I just need to get going and get my shekels together.
