gl12000a gas and temp gauges

im new to this so I hope im in the right area. I have a 86 gl1200a aspencade and the other day I had a puff of smoke come from under the seat area. now I don't have a gas or temp gauge. when I turn the key on the gauges top off and then got to nothing. any ideas would be appreciated. :?:

Search" 7 volt regulator".
It should resolve some of your problems.
Altho it dosen't address the puff of smoke from under the seat.
Better look at the wiring.Pinched.???

does anyone know where the 7volt regulator is located on my 86 gl1200a :?:

It doesn't have one, the regulated voltage done internally to the digital dash.
