The wife finely said I could get another bike. Found a 86 gl1200a for a fair price. She needed some work, but I liked it. I had it repainted and had some parts polished. still needs the carbs synced. I have vw's with multi carbs so no big deal. Here is the hiccup.
It has an exhaust leak. found it. where the header goes into the muffler. some one put a bandage on it. the inlet to the muffler is good and the manifold is solid. Is there a repair insert available? is there some thing like this?

I've not seen a repair kit/part specifically designed to fix this, but I'm sure you could probably adapt something if you tried - or have a shop weld something up, perhaps?
