Anybody recognize these grips?

Postby wilmo » Tue Oct 07, 2014 2:36 pm

As you can see, these grips have had their day and I need some replacements. Anybody recognize these, i.e. manufacturer, seller, etc? And even approx price, if you know.

I don't recognize them, but it looks like a sleeve that was pulled over the grips is what's in need of replacement.?? Under the sleeve(s) it looks like foam grips like I had on my Virago, which I absolutely hated LOL
I am wrong as often as I am right concerning what is wrong with someone else' motorcycle without having seen the machine in person. Guessing with limited information, as to the source of the trouble, is sketchy at best.

Just came back from doing 'research'. Found out they're pretty much a standard foam grip with a leather tube over them. The leather is gone but the foam is still viable. I can see why you would hate just the foam, the local Honda shop has a pair of them but no leather. I wouldn't buy them and keep them just foam as I think they would just disintegrate in about a month. So I stopped by the only leather store in town and the guy can make me some tubes, no problem, but he's a good 2 weeks out and he'd need the grips to make them. So that's the way I'm gonna go with this during the off season, which is rapidly approaching. Hopefully, they will just slip off when I remove the back ring, which just screws off.
As a side note, one of the places I stopped at was the local Harley dealer. I pulled into the lot and parked and as usual there were several bikers there hanging around. One immediately stepped up and asked if it was for sale. Kinda took me off gaurd, wasn't expecting that from a Harley rider. I replied no as I haven't considered selling it but, on the way back out I said I can reconsider if the price is right. He knew I wasn't actively trying to sell it but he did throw out 'oh around $3500 if it's suitable for me'. That's not a bad number but, I'd have to start all over again on another one so I declined.
