new here with dumb question

Postby deanbw » Sun Nov 30, 2014 2:46 am

Hello all, I am new to this forum and am sorry for asking this, Im sure it's been asked a thousand times.
I have not had a wing since my 76 gl1000 I sold in about 1990.
I now have a 1986 aspy. and have a chance to buy an engine, I dont need it now but it's available now and I dont mind having parts around. I have the 1980 cx500c I bought new in 79 and enough parts to build another one.
OK, enough rambling...question is will a 1984 engine fit my 86. I know the starter/alt backlash is adjusted differently, but are all mounts inthe same place, slines the same, things like that.
Thank you for your time.

Yes, it will fit.

And there are no dumb questions! :)

I still have a spare GL1100 engine in my garage for the same reason, even though I no longer have a GL1100.
