intercom junction box location

Postby deanbw » Wed Dec 03, 2014 2:01 pm

OK....time for another silly question. I am looking for the location of the junction box on my 86 aspy. I know some have it mounted under the auto volume control on the left lower panel of the fairing, but I think they are also mounted somewhere else and I don't know what years are mounted where. I don't have the one on the panel.....unless it did not come with it but I thought it was standard on aspies. Before I start tearing things apart looking for the little bugger I thought I would ask to see if anyone knew where to look.
Thank you

well the only place I've seen normally for the intercom is as you say under the left side pocket, and a special bracket, holds it in place, under the volume and tone controls.

I dont believe the OEM intercom is standard on the aspys and needs to be installed as is with the cd units, although I think the intercom and cb, are standard on the fuel injected models.

On my 86 apsy the intercom and cb where not installed when I brought it.

Thank you oldishwinger, that is good to know. Now I can go about my plan to install one, I didn't want to buy something like that if it was already mounted somewhere else.
