Radio question for 1986 gl12001.

Post by txtimestopper » Fri Jun 11, 2010 12:14 pm

I am new to this forum but find it to be very helpful. I have gotten some great info reading through previous threads. I was wondering about the radios for this bike. Can you only use the panasonic radio or can you adapt other type of radios to fit? I was looking to install something I could hook my ipod up too. Thank you for any help.

It really depends on if you want the incorporated intercom and/or CB

I think if I was wishing to install an intercom/CB with ability to input mp3 player I would plump for a unit from Sierra/J&M

Most of the time an FM radio is not worth it as one is continually trying to tune into stations that disappear after a few miles. ... MCB2003-DU

You can install a marine radio with MP3 input, if your a solo rider.
