1986 pulse generators

i bought pulse generators off a 1500 to put on my 1200 do i just grind the bolt indetations off the 1500 cause they are much larger than the 1200 i thought i read a link on here but i cant find it any one done this if so can you tell me how you did it thanks

Can't help much here..I don't remember reading anything other than they might work...
If this is any help....keep in mind..the small magnetic metal part on the inside area of the pulse coil must end up being in the same position as the original.
This magnetized ridge is where the pulse coil picks up its "pulse"...if I remember correct you would see about 0.010" gap between it and the raised ridge on the rotating thingy.....You might "dry fit "the old one back on to get a idea where it is positioned at and then make whatever adjustments you need to force the other ones to match it...
Any change in the physical position of that bar will change the ignition timing.
