Older Superbrace question.

Postby eskachig » Mon Mar 02, 2015 2:36 pm

Got a used Superbrace, anyone know the vintage of this beast? It seems a bit... different than current models.

I'm guessing there is an unsprung weight penalty over the newer types :)

Still, should be an improvement. PO sent me home with a loose fork connector, and even torquing that down correctly made a huge difference.

Looks just like the one I have on my 85A, I also put the same model on my 1985A in 1985 so it's been around since at least 85. You won't realy see much difference if the original brace was tight untill you have two up and doing some great curves and stopping with a load on, then you will notice something up from is doing a much better job of keeping the forks from moving around.

PS; I should have said that you might have to loosin up fender brace and even the axle caps to fit it as it is cut to a very precise fit, no wiggle room to install it. I hope you have the bolts as the ones on it now are to short for the Superbrace
