Clymer manual

Postby woody » Thu Mar 05, 2015 10:46 am

Hi from sunny UK.
Just a note to mention that if you ever have to replace the HT leads or coils then beware of conflicting information in the GL1200 clymer manual. One section says that one coil fires cylinders 1 & 3 while the other coil fires cylinders 2 & 4, but if you look at the Ignition circuit diagram it tells you the one coil fires cylinders 1 & 2 and the other fires 3 & 4. The circuit diagram is correct. I spent many a happy hour contemplating this problem until I read the manual all the way through (the nights are long an cold in the UK).

Anyway the long rebuild is almost done, happy days.

John

Right. This is correct for all four-cylinder Wings:

4 Cylinder Wing Coil Wiring
4 Cylinder Wing Coil Wiring
