Removing the starter on the gl1200 ('85 interstate)

Post by guruii » Thu Mar 12, 2015 9:16 pm

I have removed everything but the exhaust pipe in trying to remove the starter and just can not get it to come out.
I don't even see how removing the pipe is going to make enough room to get it loose. I needs a rebuild.
I have watched the Utube videos and they didn't help. Nothing so far has worked.

Does anyone have any advice?

Type in <GL1200 starter> into the Search facility. There are at least three topics covered there, including how to remove without taking the exhausts off. Post back if it is still a mystery, and someone with better knowledge (that probably means the rest of the world) will assist.

The world is not going to finish today, as it is already tomorrow in Australia and New Zealand, and other islands of foreign nations such as Guam and Samoa.
