Adjusting a rear view mirror

Postby manofallseasons » Fri Apr 03, 2015 4:20 pm

Can anyone tell me how to adjust the rear view mirror for a 1987 Aspencade? I pulled back the rubber cover and found two long bolts. I undid them and took off the mirror. Inside was what I thought was an adjustment nut so I loosened that and tried to move the mirror around with no luck. I put the mirror back on and was able to move it frontward or backward but not up and down (so it looks at the ground). Any ideas? Thanks. Dean

You should be able to adjust by hand, manually. Prolly just corroded from age.

That's what I wondered. Should it adjust by just pushing on the mirror? Would spraying WD40 behind the mirror help? Thanks.

Yes pushing on the mirror is the only way to adjust. Some sort of spray would probably help.
