1986 Interstate False Tank (Naked)

Postby Jim4541 » Sat Apr 04, 2015 12:01 pm

Hi All,

I am stripping the fairing and bags off a 86 Interstate to make it a NGW.
Can anyone tell me what years false tank will bolt on when the fairing is gone?
An 84 standard may be best but I never see them for sale.
And is there modification required to get mounts to line up?

Thanks,

Jim

Yep, '84 standard shelter would be best but they're hard to find now and spendy when you do find one. From what I remember reading over at NGW most use an 1100 shelter and mod brackets to mount it. The lines to the side covers are supposed to look kind of funky, though.
