original honda fairing

Postby pappasmurf » Sat Apr 04, 2015 2:55 pm

can anyone answer this question in regards to original Honda fairings? besides the Honda emblems on the sides of the fairings is there any other identifying marks on the fairing on the 1200i that will tell if it is an original Honda Goldwing fairing? my fairing does not have the emblems on the sides so im having issues finding out if its a Honda fairing or an aftermarket, I would appreciate any help

Honda offered Hondaline fairings in 84 for the 1200 and actually a few were put on 1100's but I never saw a knockoff of the OEM and don't believe there were any ever made. I also believe there was a ID plate on the inner left side where the wiring harness passed thru.

Open the fairing up and look inside. Virtually every piece of ABS plastic Honda made, and that includes the fairing and all of its bits, have "Honda" and a Honda part number molded into them.
