I thought we had this all fixed on our 86 Aspencade. Once running after the new rectifier for about one week it ran flawlessly and kept charge on the battery. That is until this past Friday night. Rode a short trip about 20 miles and by the time we got home the battery was almost dead. To the point it wouldn't crank the bike and the dashboard lites were dim.
My question is where the stator wires exit the wiring harness into an 8 slot plastic connector, there is another short wiring setup that plugs into the first 8 slot connector which on the other end plugs into the regulator's 8 slot connector, is this short wiring setup necessary? It looks as if the regulator could just plug into the first 8 slot connector with no problems but I'm not sure.
Anyone have any words of wisdom?
