I finally bought me an SEi. Only has 25,000 miles on it. Runs really good. Regret previous owner did not keep it in a garage. I love this wing but got a lot of learning to do. Is the travel computer supposed to stay on when the key is switched off and removed? Will it drain the battery over long periods of time?
How hard is it to find a drivers backrest? I found a new seat and arm rest, etc. on ebay, but have not found the drivers seat back rest. Any suggestions on best place to look for parts for this bike.

Re: 86 Aspencade SEi questions
Congratulations on the SEI purchase
Are you turning the key to the off position and not to acc?
The computer should be off with the key. If left on yes it will drain the battery. Have you tried spraying electrical contact cleaner in the ign switch and worked the switch a bunch(***neg battery cable disconnected***)
Backrests are still available

Re: 86 Aspencade SEi questions
The Utopia one is different but the cyclemax one will work. It mounts like my current one. Only difference is my current one actually has the goldwing emblem on it.
Yes the key is in the off position. I may need a new switch.

That is ok, but can you see it when you sit on it? Are you looking for comfort or a badge? You could always purchase a stencil, and put an emblem on yourself, in whatever colour is your preference.Only difference is my current one actually has the goldwing emblem on it.
