New coils?...nothing crazy though...

Postby tvtruth » Fri Apr 17, 2015 4:07 pm

I've got a weird intermittent miss when I fist start up the bike when it's cold. Kind of a "fffftt......fffffftt" sound from the exhaust when I just get going. Like I say, it really random and it settles down when the engine gets warm and it finally goes away. I'm thinking maybe the coils need replacing. I'm interested in your thoughts. If I did need to go with new coils/wires what would you guys suggest? Not looking to break the bank but I would like to get a solid setup in place.
BTW I did install new plugs to see if that was the cause but it wasn't. ANY help would be appreciated.

If you could record a video (with sound) it might help us identify the source.
