HELP!!!!

Postby hotspark522 » Fri Apr 24, 2015 8:12 am

ok so i had a goldwing my grandfather owned sat for 15 years
new tires brakes calibers
carbs are jetted and i stuck a needle through the pilot jet hole not the main jet
new timing belt fuel lines and other odds and ends
it starts ok runs good but slow as hell will barley do 60mph on highway
i know its not a race bike but my 1/4 time would have to be like 30 to 40 seconds no joke just for comparison
what does a gold wing run 1/4 mile wise so i know what is should be like?
fuel pump is my next task will a goldwing run fine with a weak fuel pump? but lose all top end
im at a loss here other than that
when i did the timing belt i had the left side point almost up if i went to the left one cog it was not centered if i went to the right one cog is was not centered? so any help would be great trying to get it right so i can ride

I actually found the problem the main jet was clogged in between where the jet goes and where it comes out to go into intake i flipped the carbs and pulled all jets out and dumped seafoam in it nothing went through so i used a air hose and blew it through

Damn nice looking bike hotspark. You've got tons of accessories on there, I'm jealous.

My Yamaha XS-11 used to do the 1/4 mile in 11 seconds or so,, the 1200 is larger and has much more wind drag stuff like fairings and bags, it will probably be a second or two slower... I bet it's plenty fast enough though for you... Just don't line up next to me at a traffic light because my 1100 eats 1200's and 1500's and 1800's for lunch... especially 1800's
