front fork question

Postby made2care » Thu May 07, 2015 2:38 pm

As most of you know, I had sleeping beauty in 1000 pieces and spent a lot of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$putting her back the right way.
I have a situation with the new tire rubbing slightly on the front fender on right side only. its not bad but it should not be doing that.
I am going to remove the tire , not the tire from the rim, the tire is the correct size. Just want to make sure i have it centered correctly.
Question is, what bolts washers and lock washer go on the bottom bolts that tie the axle brace to the forks. i looked on the microfish and cant tell, besides, they only sell the flange nuts not the other stuff in between.
right now from the pic you can see all i have is an aftermarket flange nut, and lock washer. hope this is the correct setup.

Thanks. I also found a close up in the how to articles. I will need to find the proper nut, split washer and washer.

If you have an Ace Hardware there in Woodward, they will have everything you need.

Depends on what you call quite a few. I have done, for sure, 6 ( 2 each 1000/1100/1500) I may have done a 1200 but I don't remember if I changed the belts on that one or not. They are all basically the same procedure. Just let me know and I will assist. When are you planning your trip? You should get it done before venturing out on the road.
