aftermarket wiring harness for a 1984 gl1200

Postby bernyboy » Sat May 16, 2015 10:56 am

I recently purchased a 1984 GL1200 Standard with 30,000 km. and am now trying to sort out some electrical issues. It appears to me that installing an aftermarket wiring harness would be a good idea. I have heard of two - one from Campbell's Electronics and one from Electrical Connections, both similiar in price. Is one superior?

The only one I have heard anything about is the EC harness, and I've heard only good reports about it.

Yeah, I'm going that route. I've ordered it.I've been practising my soldering, which is trickier than I thought.

Soldering technique comes with lots of practice. I can solder things pretty much perfectly without even thinking about it - but I've been doing it for 35+ years.

Thanks. I have watched a few videos, but this one showed the process most clearly. Now I can practise with more purpose.
