Just learned something new. Fuel pump quit on the bike yesterday. Thought I was going to have to replace. Cleaned the points on the pump. Works like a dream now. Saved $150+ for a new pump!!!!

I pulled the one apart on my 85 Aspy after it failed and there were no points left to file.Completely burnt.
If I'da known it would last this long,I'da taken better care of it.

My 84 had a similar failure on a trip 200 miles from home. I installed an automotive pump from an Autozone down the block from where the bike had quit. I matched the pressure requirement. It had a built-in filter and cost about $50. Took about an hour to change in a parking lot. Four years on and it's still working fine.
