Intercom

Hi

Are there any who can help me. My intercom has an intermittent fault. The microphone works in the back seat for 5 minutes then turns off. Ear microphones work all the time. One can hear the other talk. It is as if something turns off. What could it be ?? I have been all connectors through. I've tried to change the helmet with the front. But it's the same. :(

There is a 5 pin extension cord going to the passenger usually located close to the fuel fill opening. You can unplug this extension and plug in the headset at that point to check for the extension being bad. Both headsets are common at the junction box mounted in the fairing, can be seen by removing the left pocket.

yes i have been in all this connections and in the junction box. My problem is that it works for 5 min and then disconnect the microphone in pass. side. So i wonder if somting cold get hot and swits it off. Mabe in the junction box or in the radio it self. all other works but the mic in pass. side.

Both driver and passenger get their audio from a common connection going into the Junction box and thus the problem is from that point out.

Thank you I just have to go through the system from there. Maybe a new junction box. :)

If the rider mic is working and the passenger is not, then the problem cannot be the junction box. The wire comes out of the junction box, and THEN splits between the rider and passenger. So the problem has to be either in that wire, or one of the connectors in between it and the headset connector.

WingAdmin, your statement is true for the type 2 system but not the type 3, here is image of HI-67 kit.

You have a type 3 system. The one in the picture also includes the passengers 4 ft extension cable.

Are you sure you checked the extension from the junction plug in going back to the passenger?? The Junction box wiring rarely fails and the extension takes a beating.

All the connection have got connectionsspray and look fine. The problem is that it works for 5 min so it is difficult finding the problem. And it is 5 min of driving it works when the bike standing still. That makes it almost impossibel to finde where the problem is.

Hi Wayne you were rigth thre were one more connection under the tank. I pull the wirre and the connection came forward. The error was there. I cut both connections and soldered the wires together. Now it works without problems. I am very grateful for the help :D
