Where do you find the spark plugs on a 1984 goldwing

Postby star020 » Wed May 27, 2015 8:55 am

I am trying to find out where you find the spark plugs on a 1984 Honda goldwing , I have looked to find them and I am at a lost I need to change them because I think that is what is stopping me from getting it to start. I got this bike on a trade last year and I am not very good at working on bikes but I thought this would be a good place to start, so any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to GoldwingDocs!

If you don't know much history on this motorcycle and you got it last year, chances are that it has old gas in the tank.
It would be wise to get rid of that. You might want to suspect clogged carburetors too if the gas is old. Many of us troubleshoot a carburetor problem by spraying some ether (starting fluid) into the airbox, then try to start it. If it sputters/runs with that, the carbs are probably crudded up.

Lastly, these bikes have an interference engine. That means if the timing belt breaks, the pistons and valves will clash and ruin the engine. We always advocate that you replace the timing belts if you don't know their history.

The GOOD NEWS is that you are in Ohio.
There are a metric TON of Goldwing enthusiasts up there that should be happy to help you figure this out.
Keep asking questions and read the How-To Articles!
When all else fails, RTFM!
