Anyone with a 85 Limited Edition Help Please Read

Postby sportsfreaked » Thu Jun 04, 2015 3:15 pm

I am doing a ton of re wiring from what the previous owner did. The PO was an idiot to say the least sorry I digress. My problem is that 2 wires came undone from the plug on the travel computer. The plug is the 8 pin plug and I can't find a wiring diagram for it. I found the diagram for the large plug but not the one that plugs in next to it. I have a grey wire and a brown with a black stripe. I need to know which one goes into the end of the plug. They are right next to each other.

I was able to solder some wire into the plug but I can't hook it up until I know if the brown with black stripe goes on the end or if the gray wire goens on the end any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Ed

Can you tell me the color of the connector. As the picture from the service manual shows two white and I am asking to make sure. It may control the audio section of the trip computer is what I am gathering. I am checking through the service manual.

Found the info on the schematic and it wasn't easy.
On the connector that goes into the computer you should find the following T1,T2,T3,T4,T5,T6,T7 & T8.
The gray wire goes into the T8
The brown/black goes into the T3

Trike lady thanks for the reply I greatly appreciate it. I looked on the schematics but couldn't find it. I'm not the best at reading them but I thought for sure it would be next to the large plug on the schematic. Now If you can tell me what the 9 pin plug on my other post in the forum I would be happier then a pig in shi*. Thanks again for the effort. My wife loves your bike ;) . Ed
