Just joined, for the haters out there will let you know up front I am a harley guy myself, but everyone has the right to ride their own ride. I run a bike and small engine shop in Alexis, Il. and have a customer wanting a poor boy conversion kit for his 86 GL1200. Will help anyone who shares the joy of two wheels no matter their choice. I have worked on plenty of metric and american bikes, it's all two wheels to me. I also have an older customer looking to upgrade from 1500 trike to a 1800 trike.
Thanks for having me and looking forward to tech discussions and all around two wheel banter!

I don't think you'll find haters here - we've got lots of people here who also own Harleys, or came from Harleys (though they never seem to ever go BACK to Harleys) :).

In any case, we've got quite a few people who have done the Poorboy conversion. One of them documented his conversion with quite a few pictures, which you might find helpful, you'll find it here: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=18948

Thanks, never done one, looking forward to it. My issue is finding it for the guy. Any help with this would be much appreciated.

The original kit was sold by Donald "Poorboy" Pigott, at poorboy57@juno.com - I think he probably still does.

A CNC shop called Dupli-Tech also sells a kit, including alternator: http://www.dupli-tech.com/goldwing-alte ... ertor.html

Hello and welcome to the forum.
I've owned my share of HDs before going to a Goldwing.
I converted a lot of Goldwings to trikes and when you test ride enough of them as I have you get spoiled.
