Added a Sirius XM to 84'GL 1200 -engine noise

Postby cottager » Fri Jun 12, 2015 3:37 pm

Since the GL stil has the original radio I can only use a tape with the auxilliary plug off it to hook into the XM radio. It worked fine for my IPOD classic but the XM squeals and crackles and the noise increases with engine revs. First has there been a replacement radio option for the GL 1200 or is there a fix for the XM radio? I heard of a ground loop in the 1500 but they use the RCA cables and this only has the little ear phone wire plug. Can anyone suggestion their mods?

What you need is a ground loop isolator with 3.5mm plug and jack instead of RCA connections. They do exist, and they're relatively cheap:

Thanks WingAdmin, exactly what I'm looking for. Now if I can find in Canada, I'm all set. I will post when I hook it up.
