Removing front wheel

Postby rperry@stfx.ca » Wed Jul 01, 2015 6:24 am

Hi all,
According to the '84 GL1200 manual, I need to remove the speed sensor on the front left side, along with the calipers, so I can remove the wheel to get the rotor covers off. But the set screw to remove the sensor is BEHIND the rotor and I can't get to it. How, in God's green earth, do I get those damned rotor covers off?

Not sure, but you can remove the sensor screw after you pull the axle. I had to do this once, because the screw head was rounded. Remember the book is working/written in the perfect world with everything clean and in good working order.
