Linkage on throttle shafts loose, how to repair?

Postby 63spyder » Sun Jul 05, 2015 9:24 am

I have a 1986 aspencade, 86000 miles. It keeps loosing the carb sync. The levers that are peened on the ends of the throttle shafts are loose, mainly the back carb on both sides that has the cross over linkage. Has anyone braised this or pinned, eat. Thanks

dont solder, (silver braze, weld ,whatever) there is supposed to be felt washer behind the linkage to seal the air from leaking in the shaft bore, you would have a vacuum leak if you do.
i would try re-peening them and if no luck just buy another rack off ebay and a new set

Drilled two tiny holes and roll pinned it , I'll keep my eye open for another rack. Thanks
