volt meter and radio cut out 85 ltd

hi guys thx for the imput but i have a new problem if i turn the wheel all the way to the right volt meter and radio turn on as i move it to the left a inch or two it cuts out. so many covered wires not sure where to start any ideas would be awesome thx

Look at the left inside of the faring near the bottom...there's a plug there..It has all the connections for the dash...Mine had a couple of corroded connections..
The plug can be seen by removing the left pocket...It's at the bottom edge.
A real pain to get to and get apart...
I eventually had to remove the faring to fix it...
Just wiggling the harness that connects to the plug and my lights would go on and off...
This is your first suspect..
I ended up bypassing the bad connections rather than trying to find new inserts.

i found the problem on the right side of the fairing on the neck theres a cluster of wires i think 3 groups the 1 that was going to the neck i has a lil zap strap that straps it to a holder right at the holder is where i found the short thx for all the help i found a few issues as i checked everything you told me to look at
