towing capacity
Hi All, Hope all of you are having trouble free riding weather wherever you may be. My question this time is can anyone tell me what the maximum towing capacity of a 1985 Aspencade is? I'm looking at getting a trailer to pull behind our wing and just wondered what is a safe weight to handle safely thank you to anyone who responds. May you always be able to keep the shiny side up in your travels

Re: towing capacity
Although I have met some 1200 owners towing almost 600 lbs , with a fully loaded tent trailer, and cooler, and chairs n stuff on top ....... I think that the safe max is about 1/3 or the bike weight .
My utility trailer is about 325 lbs, loaded, and about 225 empty.
I have trailered it all over the western Canada ...up mountain passes, and never had any problems . Even on a long downhill, it does not feel as if its trying to " push me off the road" .
I think If I had anything near 500 to 600 lbs, I'd want power electric brakes hooked up .... just for safety.
