How fast am I going

Post by tbeiler » Sat Aug 22, 2015 8:01 pm

My speedo, odometer and turn signal canceller not working for a while now but am still riding the beast.
Went out with my son for a good ride tonight and at one point on a nice straight country highway road with no traffic we were up to 4400- 4500 rpms.
Can anyone translate how fast we were going?

I'm sure someone who knows the final gearing will also know the formula to determine speed.

You could also make a one mile run at say 4000rpm and time it and then compute the speed. Actually you could do this at say 2000, 2500, 3,000, 3500, and 4,500 rpms and thus get the speed for each different rpm level for future reference.

I often look at my GPS for speed rather than my speedometer. It is always accurate, and not subject to the vagaries of mechanical speedometers.

I'm doing 75 at 3600 rpm. I would gues you were doing 90 mph. The bike must run really nice, enjoy.
