1085 Aspencade with a bad alternator

Postby d_kitchell » Mon Aug 24, 2015 7:24 pm

Checked with Honda a told the bad news that 'alternators' for my '85 Aspencade cannot be found through them. Okay folks, who had them or who can rebuild mine? Any suggestions? Thanks ahead of time.

There are aftermarket options several . up to and including external alternator conversion . You might try this one for starters.

:D :D :D Ok I didn't know that Sabercycle was still on the S##T list . I had heard ( a rumor ) that they had an attitude change sometime ago . I know that I will never buy anything from them . I was just trying to give the newby some options :)

One of the main problems with them is still the quality of the products they sell. They have a lot of parts reproduced by low-quality Chinese manufacturers, so that they can sell them cheaply, however they do not last.

Another major problem is that they sell narrow-application parts as broad application, so you can get a part that doesn't actually fit your bike - or fits poorly, and ends up leaking. This is a common complaint with their parts.
