Main and rod bearings, Crankshaft

Postby Owl » Wed Sep 23, 2015 7:13 am

Hello. Here is problem with my GL1200 - main and rod bearings are died. Who know the standard dimensions of the crankshaft journals? My dimensions now is: main 51,98 mm, rod 42,99. Connecting rods and crankshaft are marked 2F. Can i install the bearings C (brown)? Other colour types is obsolete and out of stock. Maybe i can install some automobile bearings, had anybody expirience like this?

The bearings are matched to the crank and block based on measurements taken at the factory during manufacturing. To run properly, they really need to be replaced with the same types - which is hard to do when they aren't available anymore. I highly doubt you'll find automotive bearings that fit and are of the correct dimensions.

Ok. What colour type of bearings i have to find? Marks on the rods and crankshaft is 2F, there are no types for it in the manual. Maybe i use something wrong.
