backfiring

Postby loopy » Tue Sep 29, 2015 1:55 am

I have a 1984 Goldwing 1200. I had the carbies cleaned and adjusted and also the vacume also adjusted on the carbies.

I still have missing a very low speed and when I am de-accelerating I sometimes get backfiring.

Could this be faulty spark plug leads?

Yes.Concentrate on the missing first.Once it's resolved, the backfiring should also be resolved.
Spark,compression and fuel mixture.
Start the engine from cold..idle ONLY for 8 seconds and shut down.Lightly tap each header pipe. The cold one is your problem area.

Thanks for that info.

Are there any links showing how to replace the spark plug leads.
