Postby paneled » Tue Oct 06, 2015 12:12 pm

I have an 86 1200 sei, and have to pull engine to replace the stator
while it is out I will need to replace my clutch, it is getting weak.
I was wondering if anybody here had a source or a particular brand
to recommend, also will be installing new timing belts and a water pump
while engine in out of bike. any and all ideas will be appreciated. thanks

I've not had good experiences with EBC friction products (brake pads). If it were me, I would just be sticking to OEM Honda. Clutches are not something that wear out often - if I'm only going to be replacing it once every 15-20 years, I don't need to save an extra $30 to put a slightly inferior quality part in.

Hello there, I bought a 1984 wing in June and took two weeks rebuilding it. Go on ebay or some site that sells them. You do not have to spend an arm and a leg on them. I spent 34 dollars on mine, new. They were good quality and I have put 4000 plus miles on it no problem. Since you have it out, check everything. Gaskets, waterpump, anything you can think of. I did. I have no worries at all taking her anywhere. new tires new ball bearings you name it I done it. It will pay off if you are planning on keeping it.
