Hello everyone!, just checkin in with a first post. I am a true biker at 56 and been riding since I was 5. Loyal to my current 01 Dyna and 1%, however a buddy of mine who just purchased an 06 Electra glide was getting rid of his 1986 GL1200I and a coworker was reluctant at $500? I gave him $750 cause I don't rip friends off and I have definitely got the bug!. this old bike is so cool!!!!!. it runs at 77,000 and so far I have simply rebuilt the front brake/clutch master cyl's and slave cyl. Runs like a champ!, I have rattled canned the paint to get rid of the "LAVENDER' pin striping "don and sandras toy" WTF!!!!!. Im in and Looking at making this bike my long distance touring bike. My 6yo daughter will no longer ride the HD unless I demand it? she say's "lets take the Goldwing", next maint are fork seals, new pyle stereo and clutch fiber plates. ill post pic's soon. JT

Welcome to the forum JT.
I used to have an 02 Low rider and one reason that I went to an 86 Wing was because of the wife wouldn't ride with me.
The 1200 Wing is so much more comfortable and I'm sure that you guys will really enjoy it.
Sounds like you know your way around, but if you need any help with your Wing, there are lots of people here willing and able to help.
It's never too late to have a happy childhood!

congratulations on your new ride, the 1200 is a great bike, a pleasure to ride, and handles long distance without effort. The longest I've done in one day was 950kms and it was a marvelous ride.

enjoy the ride, and if you need advice, there are a lot of wonderful people right here only too willing to help.
