clock & charger

Postby flash1942 » Sat Oct 24, 2015 8:47 am

Guys, is the Battery Tender jr able to keep the battery up while the clock on my Aspencade operates? Or should I "fire" the clock?

Should keep up with a clock without a problem. The clock wont use that much to keep running.

the clock needs very little to run, the radio also has a small draw, along with a cb. I dont use a tender, and can leave the bike in excess of 10 days and have no trouble starting.

If you are concerned about the clock and other things draining the battery , why don't you just disconnect one of the terminals from the battery ? That would eleminate all doubts and it's not hard to do :?:

The Battery Tender Jr. can supply 750mA of current (0.75 amps). If you have something on your bike drawing that amount of current continuously even when turned off, it would kill your battery pretty much overnight.

I don't remember what the exact clock draw is when turned off, but it is absolutely miniscule - something like 0.1 mA.
