Starter

Postby Gemurphy » Tue Dec 01, 2015 12:59 pm

Recently I bought a 86 SEI. Last weekend I was going to take it out for a ride and it wouldn't start. The started or what I would assume was the starter just clicked. I live on a hill so I was able to start it easily and it ran fine. sorry it's such a broad description, I've only had small bikes before so this is a new world for me.
Thanks,
George

It wouldn't be uncommon for the starter solenoid to fail...You can check this with a test light or volt meter attached to the cable feeding the starter...With the key on,push the start button...there should be at least 11 volts feeding the starter...
The solenoid is right next to the battery.
