Rubber pieces by Radiator

Postby Arti » Sat Dec 12, 2015 9:25 pm

I put new timing belts on my 86 Wing Gl1200 I . Putting the Radiator back on tonight and I have 2 rubber strips that I'm not sure where they go.
They fell on the floor when I took the lower fairings off and don't know where they should go.

Anyone know where they fit ?

Looked in the shop manual and they don't show them in the radiator removal section.
Thx in advance.

Mine are off right now, but they go on the leading edge of those little panels you removed against the radiator. There may be some residue left were they were attached to the panel. Helps keep the air going into the radiator and not into the engine area. And makes your bike look more complete....& kool.

Cold and windy here tonight so put the shields back on. With twocams suggestion I saw where they go.

If you dont have rusty left over bolts when your done then your not doing it right. I have one of those magnetic ashtray looking things. Every Time I kick a nut, bolt, washer on my shop floor, If I dont know where it came from it goes in there. I have a nice little collection now. Sometimes Ill say ....that's where the bolt goes, 2 weeks later.

That might be a Tupperware screw/washer for the front end
