2 mistakes in 2 days.......REALY!!

Yesterday I was going to add a little oil to the crankcase. Down a little just topping off. Grabbed what should have been oil on shop counter.Poured some in...looked real thin. Crap I just put antifreeze in the engine. :o I was going to drain the oil later anyway smelled like a lot of gas in the oil. But changed before starting the engine anyway.

Today: Thought I would check the timing with timing light. Bad Idea. Hooked up the timing light took the plug out of the timing hole like I did to replace the timing belts. Hit the old start button and oil came out like a volcano. Holy Crap Batman nowhere did I see anything about using any adapter before starting the engine. well there ya go I cant make anymore mistakes the rest of the year now.....that was all I was allowed. :shock:

you cant change the advance anyway, no need to start it to check timing, I just turn mine by hand and check with light.
Dont feel bad about the pil, one time I saw my brother working on his car,I asked him what he was doing, he said "changing the oil" I said "cool, but why did you drain the tranny"....

twocams I did a similar oops, I was checking the timing then setting the valves and for got to put the timing mark cover back on and started the bike and before I knew it I had fresh oil everywhere. The engine looked great after 3 scrubbing to get rid of the 1.5 qt of oil I sprayed on her. :lol: :lol: lesson learned, I have to pay more attention at my old age. Short memory :D :D
