From what I understand there is no such thing as a easy change over . Many things related to the radio . I am sure there is no jobber equipment available to plug and play ,, the demand just wouldn't be high enough .

you can get face plates to fit the stock space, even ebay has them, as mentioned there is no direct replacement. I don't care about a CD player so I had mine checked/ fixed and kept all stock so intercom and CB still work just to keep it all stock and intact. If you want CD player - http://www.ebay.com/itm/ADD-ON-IRC871-U ... xB&vxp=mtr
You will not have intercom anymore or if so equiped no CB anymore.

I installed a pyle marine stereo #PLMRKT12BK and im completely happy with it.it literally fits in the hole perfectly and use the oe slide mounts to do it. as stated there isn't plug and play aftermarket. you can use the existing wires to connect it but there is splicing involved. In hindsight I would have sent the oe stereo to the guy that reworks them and simply stayed stock. I ride mostly full faced helmets and find the stereo useless at speed. this is my first fairing bike and the stereo thing seemed like a cool idea but blaring five finger death punch loud enough for me to hear isn't how I want ride the bike around town.

Sierra Motorcycle Electronics repairs OEM and offers newer technologies. Like others, I decided to stay with the stock audio system.

After Sierra cleans and updates your radio/tape/ comm system , you could also ask them to add a tap for cell , or MP3 player .

or you can do it yourself , as many have :( if you have an older panasonic GL1200 radio )

Its not hard, just tedious .

look on line for some polk 4" round speakers. Can't remember the model number I got but way better than stock. Problem is you won't be able to use the stock grilles. These come with some nice grilles that line up with the existing holes. Just depends on how picky you are. Sounds good but not great as bass requires larger speakers. Definitely better than the stock ones.
