Putting back together

Postby twocams » Thu Feb 11, 2016 5:29 pm

Started putting my 85 Aspencade back together. Put in an 87 gas tank, rebuilt carbs, new fuel pump, new rear tire, new front being mounted now. Polished up rear fender and rear chrome luggage rack. ordered a used front fender cause the other had a big chunk of paint missing. just wanted some new stuff on this forum to read and pics to look at. Upper 60s today be a good day for a ride. But only one of my 3 bikes are up and running and im using the battery for Wing right now. But the sun's out and It dont get no better than this. And Max my American Eskimo dog is a great help.....not.

no better feeling than when it goes back together, and if the stuff going on is shiny......all the better. Keep it up, the season for rubber on the road is nearly here.

Ya, Im having a small operation on Feb. 16th and was told it may take 30 days to feel right. So I won't miss the ridding season anyway.

Yea winter sucks . -20 here this morning with a tad of snow coming down so me thinks it will be a little more than a week or two here before I can try out my new Michelin Commander 11 front and rear . Anxious to see how the front forks perform after total rework . the tubes were oil dry last season so I expect good things from it . I know what you mean twocams we do all the work then wait for riding season bur no complaints I managed to get a little under 15,000 MILES last summer but must confess I spent many days riding when maybe I could have been doing something constructive but it sure felt good after almost 10 years without a bike . I plan on the same thing this summer as many nice days as I can muster and maybe even a few not so nice ones . and I might add the old 86 Aspy is a very nice bike to ride even in the rain and am lucky that it has been unmolested from any sketchy wiring or add-ons . Replaced lots of consumables on the bike this winter and we ready ,, I think the only thing I might do is get a led spot-flood combo light to mount under stock headlight as the deer here are everywhere day and night . Hope everyone here has a good riding season , ride safe . 8-)
