5.8 gallon tank. I get 45-47 mpg on trips, riding solo and not real loaded down.

The book for my 85 GL1200A says 5.8 US gal. So I would say yours would be also. Mileage is always represented by how will one's bike is tuned, and carb adjustments. And of course milage can go up and down in stop and go traffic, tire inflation. Are you going 65 MPH or 85 MPH? Do you have a tail wind or wind right straight at your mug. :o I have heard from 30+ to 45+ MPG. IMHO, Not sure if this helps or not?

The 5.8 is spec. Over the life of mine 35 to 45 mpg. As stated dependent on driving conditions. When touring I just count on 38 for calculating where stops might be. But usually is right around 40 to 42, that's 2 up and 70 mph & under.
