By "no fire" do you mean that it cranks normally but has no spark or that the bike is completely dead...no lights.

Good.At least there's life.
The ignition system is comprised of just 3 sections.
Ignition coils, ignition module and the pair of pulse coils.
With no spark at all,I'm going to lead you first to the kill switch.
It provides power to the coils.
Generally (I don't have a schematic handy) black wires, even ones with a tracer color are switched ignition.
At the right switch cluster harness, you should find 2 of these wires..As you operate the kill switch, one should switch power, the other is steady power.
Its easier to check there than dig to the coil wiring.
If I were to guess, the wire should be a black and the other is black/white.

OK..I just found the schematic. The kill switch is fed power on a black/green wire and it does feed the coils on a black/white wire.
That same black/white wire is also feeding the ignition module. You may probe for switched 12 volts there too.
If there's good volts, move to the pulse coil plug.Disconnect it and inspect for any corrosion.

I'm not sure this will help but here's the best picture I can get off my phone of the ignition system.
