Grand Forks that was one place I never wanted to get stationed when I was in the Air Force. Just the weather. Instead I was sent to Rapid City SD. Just as bad i'm thinkin. But then I went to PEOTF 416. Port Sudan, Sudan, now that was culture shock. And HOT and sand blowing ......and.
OH ya nice bike by the way. I like the color of those bikes.

What a deal! By the way, the timing belts you stated changed at 8K miles, but how long ago? If they've sat a long time the belt is not in good condition, they harden. For instance Lexus owners are told 70K or 7 years. Just a thought, don't want to see a nice one tore up :)

WOW, 9,700 mls. Yep northern bikes = lower milage but that is exceptional, a 30 yr new bike! Congratulations! I just bought my first Wing last saturday, SEi also. 43,000 mls, I am the third owner. Bike was well maintained but needs some work. I gave $1600.00 which I feel is a good deal.

If they use road salt up there in ND be careful of early spring rides. Let the rains do there job of washing that salt off the road. I about ruined my old Yamaha by riding on salt covered roads. You don't realize what is happening till the damage is bad! With global warming we are getting more and more warm winter days. It is hard to resist the temptation to go for a putt...Rusty

hey stinvinn, i have the exact same bike as you. much more power than my 1100 has. i love it. i have a question to ask you. i see you have drivers foot pegs on your engine case guards, do they allow you to stretch your legs out almost fully? i have the floorboards attached to my engine guards and i don't like them because i can't stretch my legs out enough and i've been thinking on changing them.

btw, although mine wasn't running when i bought it, (the crank pulse sensor was unplugged and the PO didn't know it), i paid $300.00 for mine.

stuart.

your right. these old 1200's have a LOT of power in them. its amazing to feel how much more "get up and go" this bike has over my 1100. the fuel injection motor is far more superior than the regular carb aspirated bike and the fuel mileage is much better too. even the ride is more solid and comfortable.

im very happy with it.

stuart.
